A review of the World Bank Forest Carbon Partnership Facility readiness preparation proposals

12pm, July 30th, 2015

This working paper is part of a series of regular updates reviewing the readiness preparation proposals (R-PPs) submitted by REDD+ country participants to the World Bank Forest Carbon Partnership Facility (FCPF).

The papers analyze the R-PPs in order to assess how countries are dealing with fundamental issues of forest governance that undermine efforts to reduce deforestation and forest degradation in REDD+ countries. Without addressing these issues it will be difficult, if not impossible, to reduce deforestation and degradation, mitigate risks of leakage and non-permanence, and ensure that social and environmental safeguards are met.

This 2012 edition of the working paper is the ninth in the series.
