Technical Guidelines for Electromobility: Identification of Good Practices
Quito, the capital of Ecuador, is a benchmark in Latin America for its commitment to sustainable public transport. With a population of 2.7 million, the city has made progress in building an integrated and modern transport system, starting with the Central Trolleybus corridor in 1995 and reaching a milestone in 2023 with the inauguration of the Quito Metro, which improves connectivity and reduces dependence on the private automobile.
To consolidate an efficient and multimodal transport system, Quito has developed the Sustainable Mobility Master Plan (PMMS DMQ) 2023-2042, which prioritizes low-emission technologies and resilient infrastructure. In this context, the technical assistance focused on creating technical guidelines for electromobility and good mobility management practices, focused on urban public transport, to be used in future training of the technical team of the Secretariat of Mobility and the Environmental Fund.
