The Climate Action Accelerator is a technical assistance service designed to strengthen capacities, develop policies, programs and/or tools that contribute to resilient and low-emission development for organizations in the Latin America and the Caribbean region.

The LEDS LAC Platform offers the “Climate Action Accelerator” technical assistance service to LEDS LAC members in the Latin America and Caribbean region. The service provides quick (maximum 6 months) technical support for implementation and/or acceleration of climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies. The Climate Action Accelerator is designed to strengthen capacities, develop policies, programs and/or tools that contribute to resilient and low-emission development for organizations in the region.

The types of projects to be supported include the design or implementation of policies, plans, cooperation agreements and roadmaps; the development or application of guidelines, standards and tools; training and peer-to-peer learning, among others. August 1, 2023

What is the opportunity offered?

Hire an expert to provide targeted technical assistance free of charge.

Duration of TA:

  • Short: up to 3 months
  • Long: up to 6 months

Who can request technical assistance?
Members of the LEDS LAC Platform that are:

  • Subnational Governments of Latin America and the Caribbean
  • Government agencies
  • Non-governmental organizations, businesses, technical bodies, or academic organizations that assist government agencies and have the endorsement of those agencies (written note)

Suggested topics:

  • Transportation
  • Energy
  • Resource efficiency
  • Public and private sector engagement

Preferred criteria:

  • Requested by a member of a LEDS LAC Community of Practice
  • Requested by a member of a LEDS LAC Community of Practice
  • Priority approaches: finance, public-private engagement/dialogues, adaptation, transparency, and innovation
  • Potential for replication by other governments at regional level in Latin America and the Caribbean
