ALP Building Energy Efficiency CoP

Asia LEDS Partnership CoPs

Building Energy Efficiency Community of Practice

The Asia LEDS Partnership (ALP) is happy to announce the launch of the Community of Practice (CoP) on Building Energy Efficiency (BEE). It is an initiative of the Asia LEDS Partnership in collaboration with the Building Efficiency Accelerator (BEA) initiative supported by the World Resources Institute (WRI). The interactive platform will allow for deeper learning and sustained participation, continuous access to tools and expert assistance, and to foster champions that will serve as role models for other countries in the region.

The BEE CoP of the ALP will cover learning and technical collaboration focusing on policies and measures, financing mechanisms, and technologies pertaining to Building Energy Efficiency. The activities of the BEE CoP are envisaged to be demand-driven and informed by the participants on the technical needs of the members. The CoP will seek to further engage by offering support and solutions to active participants and early movers in the field of building energy efficiency and related topics as needs emerge. Members would have opportunities to avail of specific technical and advisory support through the BEA and ALP’s network.

In 2019-20, the BEE CoP’s work focused on peer learning, knowledge exchange, and offering no-cost technical assistance to the CoP participants. Participating cities also had the opportunity to join the BEA initiative and contribute to the BEA’s efforts to double the rate of energy efficiency improvements in the building sector by 2030. Cities signing up to the BEA can access tools, resources, and support from the BEA partnership to help guide the adoption of building efficiency policies, implementation of pilot programs
