Nairobi workshop: Low carbon microgrids decision support toolkit
Location: Paradise room, Safari Park Hotel, Nairobi, Kenya
Join the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) for its low carbon microgrids toolkit development workshop during the third International Off-Grid Renewable Energy Conference and Exhibition (IOREC) pre-conference day in Nairobi.
The World Business Council for Sustainable Development and its member companies are developing a decision support toolkit to assist stakeholders involved in the development of microgrids to streamline the identification process towards best available solutions. The main objective of this workshop is to receive detailed feedback from industry – primarily regulators/planners, financiers, developers/operators and local associations-on their needs for such tool and how it can be improved and complemented. By using a range of scenarios, the current draft toolkit outlines technology options and sustainable business models relevant to each of the scenarios.
09:30-09:45: Welcome and draft toolkit introduction, Thomas Andre (Schneider Electric)
09:45-10:25: Group discussions on:

• Receiving organization’s feedback if the tool is understandable, useful and effective in identifying technology options and business models
• Noting suggestions on how to further develop and implement the toolkit, Moderated by Thomas Andre (Schneider Electric) and Guilherme Collares Pereira (Energias de Portugal).
10:25-10:45: Wrap-up and conclusions
